In my 27 years on this earth, there are very few things I find more rewarding then spending a day on the beach. Honestly, the beach is home to me. I love everything about it, the sound of waves crashing, sandy feet, salty air and of course a nice tan. While I love the beach, there are also a few downsides, like overexposing our hair to salt water and UV rays. Fun fact or not-so-fun fact, salt water works like a thief that steals all the good water/moisture from our hair. After learning this, I realized I’ve been torturing during summer months for years. Whoops! Here’s the catch though, the solution isn’t to avoid the sun & salt water entirely – it is to hydrate your hair with the right products. Now I may not literally bring all these products to the beach, typically these are all products we don’t think about. All products that are super important for keeping our hair happy and healthy. First up, the Wet Brush Pro Detangler brush. I have used this brush for years. I actually have one in just about every bag I carry! It easily detangles my hair without ever pulling and basically cuts brushing time in half. I recommend this brush to everyone I know. Short hair, long hair, thick hair, thin hair, you want this brush! Also works wonders when brushing through a little kids hair!
Let’s get to the products, shall we? Cibu Dry Shampoo. I love love love this dry shampoo. For as long as I can remember Drybar Dry Shampoo was always been my go-to. That changed the moment my stylist at Hair Cuttery suggested I give Cibu a try. Let me tell you, I’m all about it now. It smells nice, takes away the greasy shine and adds very little weight. Anyone with super fine hair knows that adding heavy products can quickly become an issue. I’m a sucker for a good dry shampoo all year round, but especially in the summer months. Next up is BB Cream from AG. This primer is seriously bomb.com. Another favorite from AG is the tousled texture spray. The best way I can describe this texture spray is the perfect mix between a dry shampoo and hairspray. Perfect for that “lived in” look and it smells amazing! I have tried many other brands, even paying up to $46 for the oribe texture spray and yet still this AG spray outshined all of them!
Redken Frizz Dismiss Shampoo & Conditioner. This Sodium Chloride-Free and Sulfate-Free formula to tame frizzy hair, increase smoothness and enhance shine. I’m actually a big fan of Redken’s whole hair care line. There’s really no way to avoid the summer heat and humidity that wreaks havoc on our hair. And let’s face it, no chance at looking your best with a bunch fly aways and a frizzy mop. I love using this shampoo & conditioner on days when I know I don’t have time to straighten or style. It truly works wonders at taming fly always without making it feel weighted down by product. It smells amazing and leaves my hair feeling super soft and moistened. Also the Redken Frizz Dismiss Mask is certainly worth adding to the bundle. After using Redken’s Frizz Dismiss Shampoo, I apply the mask to wet hair and comb it through. Leave in 3-5 minutes. Rinse. And you’re one step closer to looking like you just walked out of the salon. I use the mask in replace of the Frizz Dismiss conditioner 2-3x a week!
