When most people hear the word Xeomin, they have no clue what it is. When most people hear Botox, they immdiately picture a women with a scary frozen face and jacked up eyebrows or they shake their head as if they’re way too good for it, “ugh that’s so fake.” And I’ll admit, I too used to picture that same surprised, frozen face. That is, until I educated myself on what it is and who it’s actually perfect for.
Ohhhhhh, talking about one of them hush-hush subjects, now I’ve got your attention….Ready?…..Botox or specifically Xeomin in this case, is not only for celebrities and older people. It’s FDA approved for men and woman from ages 18-65. Say Whaaaaat? Yup. In fact, the younger you start, the more you are preventing wrinkles from occurring and the less dosage you’ll ever need to use. It’s simple, less wrinkles, less Xeomin.
The lovely team over at EvolveMKD set me up an appointment to try Xeomin at the Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York, with the most rad doctor, Dr. Brauer. I’m obviously no scientist here, so I’m not gonna pretend like I know or I’m an expert on the fancy chemical differences between Botox and Xeomin. Just know that they basically do the same thing. They get the same job done, if you will. Xeomin is a newer released brand that is said to be manufactured more purely, yet still falls under the same “toxin A” tree as Botox does. Make Sense? Cool. Moving on.
It’s true, I don’t need Xeomin. But no one needs tattoos and no one needs their hair or nails done. We just like getting those things done, right? Well same goes for me and Xeomin. I just like it. I like the way it gives a little lift to my eye lids and makes me look a little less tired; I like the way it smooths the fine lines that are etched across my forehead and how it let’s my makeup apply on smoother.
Xeomin lasts 3-5 months. The less wrinkles you have to start with, the longer Xeomin will prevent and smooth fine lines from appearing. Follow me here, I’m 25, with no super deep wrinkles, therefore Dr. Brauer only needed to use a small dosage to smooth the lines on my forehead and between my eyebrows. Now take someone who is 35, presuming they’ve never used Xeomin and have deeper pre-existing wrinkles, they will always need a higher dosage to reach similar results.
If you guys are interested, I’d definitely make an appointment with a doctor you trust! Talk to them and see what would work best for you. If you’re in the area of Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York, I defintely suggest seeeing Dr. Brauer!!
